Underwriting Team Leader – Dublin

This international Insurance Group are expanding and are hiring a Senior Technical Underwriter who has a wealth of knowledge to oversee programmes produced by the company's branch offices located throughout Europe.  

Reporting to the Head of Underwriting, the key objectives in this role is to manage, motivate and develop a team of underwriters, ensuring all service levels and service charters are met both domestically and internationally. The successful candidate will also actively participate in or lead projects and operational initiatives where required, build relationships with key stakeholders, as well as taking on underwriting responsibilities when required. You will have strong motivational, negotiation and communication skills and proven experience in coaching and developing teams together with an imaginative and innovated approach to work. A minimum of 12 years insurance industry experience.

You will need to ensure that adequate processes and controls are in place to maximise the profits generates from written business, raise any issues identified to the Head of Underwriting, Underwriting Committee and Compliance Team where required. 

Requirements: 

Relevant professional/3rd level qualification - ACII/FCII preferred - min CIP, strong knowledge and background in the insurance industry, experience and knowledge of Irish and European Insurance Industry and how it functions. Also be strong at compiling and presenting presentations for both internal staff and Third Parties
